The Historic North Star House Preserving an Architectural Treasure
The North Star Conservancy House is a 10,000 square foot home designed in 1905 by the renowned California Arts and Crafts architect Julia Morgan. The House is located on a portion of the former North Star mine, a 14-acre site of spectacular Northern California landscape, one mile from historic downtown Grass Valley.
Bear Yuba Land Trust has moved its headquarters office from their Brunswick Basin location on Joerschke Drive to the North Star Historic Conservancy property. The Land Trust now occupies the historic Gardner's Cottage on the Conservancy grounds. Their new mailing address is:
The mission of the North Star Historic Conservancy is to rehabilitate the Julia Morgan designed historic North Star House and its immediate grounds, reconnecting it to the greater Grass Valley area and restoring its place as an active hub of the community.
