The Historic North Star House Preserving an Architectural Treasure
The North Star Conservancy House is a 10,000 square foot home designed in 1905 by the renowned California Arts and Crafts architect Julia Morgan. The House is located on a portion of the former North Star mine, a 14-acre site of spectacular Northern California landscape, one mile from historic downtown Grass Valley.
The North Star Historic Conservancy, a not for profit 501-c-3 organization, has been working on the house and grounds since 2006. The Board of Directors and dedicated volunteers are working towards the day when the house will fully resume its place as a cultural, historic, educational center for our community.
The mission of the North Star Historic Conservancy is to rehabilitate the Julia Morgan designed historic North Star House and its immediate grounds, reconnecting it to the greater Grass Valley area and restoring its place as an active hub of the community.
